Moscow is really an amazing city for art-type architectural shots…
My 2 favorites from yesterdays photo “hunt” 🙂
These will be available soon on
Happy Travels!!
New black and white photo from Moscow… the architecture here is extremely varied and, quite often, amazing
Plus a quirky bonus..
Happy Travels! and always be safe
Lately I have been experimenting more and more with black and white photography…coupled with my “Weird Art” shots. But more on that in an upcoming post.
Last weekend, I was out and about in Moscow and paid a visit to Tsaritsyno Park… A beautiful park and open air museum located just to the southeast of the center of the city. It is easily reached by metro, with the green line stopping at Tsaritsyno metro stop…
Even with the weather being snowy and cold, a lot of people were wandering around taking in the sights of this historic place..
I can’t wait to see this in the summer when the flowers are in bloom..
Happy Travels!!
Hello from Moscow, Russia… It has been a hectic several months (you noticed no posts for awhile?) while getting moved in and a new job…well, same job, just a new location 🙂
This is an amazing city… a little cold right now so I am waiting to see how long the winter here actually lasts.. People say until late April and even into May but we’ll see.. The photo below of the Kremlin wall and cathedrals was taken in August of 2015..shortly after arriving in Moscow… More recent photos to come as we start to explore this ginormous city..
I will be getting back into the swing of things now… posting photos and information about the city.. I, also, may be starting a new website based blog page…still working that part out.. 🙂
Next up – Saint Petersburg!
As always – Happy Travels!
It’s been awhile … So many things happening.
As most of my followers know, I have been living and working in Kyiv, Ukraine for the past 4 years.. Well, this contract is up and I will be leaving Kyiv for another city and another country.. It’s the biggest reason I haven’t been posting for awhile. I know it is a lame excuse and really just a cover for letting the stress of packing and getting ready to start all over somewhere else kick in … Throw in a touch of laziness and there ya have it..
Visa is approved … travel is planned and, mostly, paid for.
My girlfriend and I will be leaving on June 19th for a two week train trip through a bunch of cities in Poland… Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Lodz, Torun and, finally, Gdansk.. That’s the fun part. We will end this journey with a few nights in Berlin before flying to …..
MOSCOW!!
It is an exciting new adventure and I am really looking forward to it. Another 2 year contract with the possibility of 2 years worth of extensions, so I should be able to document and photograph this amazing city thoroughly..
It is also easy enough to continue my exploration of the beautiful cities in Europe…not to mention all the “ring cities” in and around Moscow and St. Petersburg (which I hear is absolutely gorgeous)..
Another month, more or less, and I will be back to my weekly posts and daily photo posts..
Stick with me and hopefully you won’t be disappointed..
Now the apartment inspections and actual “pack out” begin… ugh
Have a great day and HAPPY TRAVELS!!
The Memorial Park of the Great Patriotic War
Over the next couple of months, I will be re-visiting some of the familiar sites in Kiev, Ukraine.. My time here is almost done.
I have one more major trip planned and then my effort gets diverted into getting the paperwork in place, signed and approved for the next assignment… Hopefully Moscow in July..
Happy Travels!
The Victory Memorial and Eternal Flame Park is about a 20 minute walk from downtown…and well worth it..
It’s a beautiful and spacious park built in memory of those fallen during WWII..
The center monument represents 5 rifles and encloses an :Eternal Flame” guarded by an honor guard..
Relief sculptures ring the grounds
Adjacent is the Memorial Cemetery..
A truly “must see” in any trip to Chisinau…
Happy Travels!
While not a thriving tourist destination yet, there are a few places that are “must see” if you visit this city in Moldova..
The number one, and by far the most well kept, site is the Metropolitan Cathedral “Nativity of the Lord”..
which is located, oddly enough, in the center of Cathedral Park… The original bell tower was demolished in the ’60’s but rebuilt in 1998..
At the main entrance to the the park sits the Arc de Triumf…
The Presidential Palace, towering over the center of the city, is a short walk away…
The main train station is considered by many to be one of the prettier buildings in town.. The guards told us we couldn’t take picture inside..not sure why but, you know how security guards can be..
Like I said before, not a bad place for a weekend get-a-way…
Parks and monuments in Moldova coming soon…
Happy Travels!
